Health
Better Life Organization (BLO) delivers comprehensive health services across Afghanistan, reaching some of the country’s most remote and vulnerable communities. Our services align with national frameworks such as the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and the Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS), ensuring consistent access to both primary and secondary healthcare. BLO’s services include maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) care, reproductive health services, nutrition support, routine immunization programs, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), emergency health responses, health research, assessments, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity-building initiatives related to health.
Protection and Safeguarding
In a country where conflict and displacement continue to expose people to protection risks, BLO stands at the forefront of safeguarding vulnerable groups across Afghanistan. Our protection services span a wide range of life-saving interventions, from child protection and mental health support to legal aid and community engagement. We champion the rights of women and girls by addressing gender-based violence (GBV), psychosocial assistance, and legal services. Upholding the highest standards of accountability, BLO promotes the protection against sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) by building robust reporting systems and empowering communities. Whether through frontline services, capacity building, research and studies, or community advocacy, BLO’s protection and safeguarding efforts are guided by a commitment to dignity, safety, and lasting impact.
Food Security and Livelihoods
BLO’s Food Security and Livelihoods services respond to persistent hunger, economic shocks, and climate challenges, supporting Afghans affected by crisis. Our interventions strengthen local resilience by equipping farmers with seeds, tools, and livestock. We promote economic empowerment through vocational training, small business development, and targeted cash-based assistance, with a strong focus on supporting women and displaced populations. Whether restoring livelihoods, promoting climate-resilient agriculture, or delivering life-saving food distributions, BLO’s Food Security and Livelihoods initiatives are guided by a commitment to resilience and lasting impact.
Education
BLO’s Education services empower Afghan women, girls, boys, and vulnerable populations by improving access to quality, inclusive, and safe learning opportunities. Our programs span formal, non-formal, and vocational education, ensuring learners of all ages can acquire essential skills for personal and economic empowerment. We deliver literacy and numeracy programs, technical and vocational training (TVET), teacher capacity-building, and community-based education for children in hard-to-reach areas. With a focus on gender equity, we work to remove barriers to learning through awareness campaigns, provision of learning materials, and safe learning spaces. Guided by a commitment to resilience and self-reliance, BLO’s education initiatives foster long-term opportunities, strengthen community capacity, and support sustainable development across Afghanistan.
